For 35 years, Diane C. Weil has specialized in the representation of debtors, creditors and trustees and other fiduciaries in bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She also serves as a member of the Panel of Trustees for the Central District of California. Ms. Weil has extensive experience in virtually all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency-related matters.
Diane has represented individual and business debtors in both liquidation and reorganization cases, secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, creditors’ committees and has particular expertise in representing trustees in a variety of matters in the bankruptcy court. She has represented parties or served as a fiduciary in cases in many industries, including entertainment, technology, retail, financial services and consumer and internet marketing.
As counsel, she has prosecuted and defended avoiding power claims (preferential/fraudulent transfers), asset sale litigation, discharge litigation, and numerous other bankruptcy litigation matters.
Diane is also a certified mediator through the Pepperdine University School of Law Institute for Dispute Resolution. She has served on the panel of mediators for the Bankruptcy Courts for the Central District of California since the Panel’s inception in 1996.
Among other professional affiliations, Diane has served as the President of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, a member of the California State Bar Debtor-Creditor Relations and Bankruptcy Committee and a member of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
